Hanwell Big Local continued to work with Ealing Community Transport (ECT) in offering subsidised transport services and training opportunities for individuals and community groups in the Hanwell Big Local area.

We provided the following services to Hanwell Big Local Residents in 2017:

PlusBus Individual Transport

PlusBus is a door-to-door bus service for Hanwell Big Local area residents’ who cannot use, or have difficulty using, public transport (for example, because of age, disability or long term illness).

First 5 trips will be free.  Future trips will be at the subsidised return fare of £2. Each one-way journey costs £1. Children travelling with a parent and carers will travel free on all journeys.

Group Transport

HBL Group Transport service in Partnership with ECT can provide minibuses for any groups from voluntary or community organisations, Schools, clubs and neighbourhood associations based in the Hanwell Big Local area.

Training Hanwell Big Local Residents

HBL in Partnership with ECT offer various training packages and short work experiences for Hanwell Big Local residents, including:

  1. Certificated MiDAS training for wheelchair-user accessible minibuses
  2. Manual handling training
  3. Safeguarding training
  4. 5 days of unpaid work experience with an experienced driver or PA

Any Hanwell resident who wishes to undergo driver training or PA training must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid D1 driving licence.

All training is free of charge to Hanwell Big Local residents.
