Hanwell Big local has awarded sums of between £50 – £500 to local residents and groups in the local area for activities and projects that got people involved, increased community participation and helped raise awareness of HBL project.

Some examples were:

  • Knitting Classes

  • A boxing club

  • Funding the local events

In 2017 HBL Small Grants have been awarded to:

Ealing Boxing ClubIn February 2017 HBL awarded Ealing Boxing Club £500 Small Grant to run non-contact boxing training for girls and boys living in the HBL area. This grant was to provide equipment to run boxing sessions, promotion and studio rent.

In April 2017 HBL awarded £500 Small Grant to run Knitting Classes for residents living in the HBL area. This grant was to provide promotion and studio rent.

In May 2017 HBL awarded £500 Small Grant. This grant was to buy equipment and material for costumes and parade.

Hanwell Big Local supported Copley Close Steering Group in holding their summer community fun day. HBL awarded them a Small Grant of £500 to hold this event to give the residents an opportunity to unite, for all people young and old to have an enjoyable day with their neighbours and friends.

It was a wonderful community event, filled with fun and exciting activities including cup cake decorating, DJ, face painting and delicious Caribbean food.

Hanwell Big Local awarded Small Grant to Gurnell Grove Resident Association in holding their summer community fun day. This event was the opportunity for the residents to have an enjoyable and fun day with their neighbours and friends.

It was a great community event despite the unfortunate weather but local residents especially children enjoyed the day filled with fun and exciting activities including DJ, face painting and football. HBL & EASE held a football tournament and medals were given out to the participating children & young people.

This event was organised by the residents of Copley Close with the intention of bringing the community together to celebrate the end of Ramadan and EID. EASE and HBL supported the event and awarded the organisers a HBL Small Grant of £500.

This was a great opportunity for the community to come together to enjoy food and each other’s company whilst raising community spirits.

Hanwell Big Local awarded £500 Small Grant to North Hanwell Trader Association (NHTA) and Hanwell Traders Association (HAT) to hold a Christmas party on Saturday 2nd December 2017.
