The Mentoring Project aim was to supports young people who face multiple challenges varying from inclusion in school, confidence, clear boundaries, transition periods etc. Our aim was to provide 1:1 volunteer mentors to support young people aged 11-17 who live within the Hanwell Big Local Area.
Since the start of this project, we have successfully recruited and trained seven Youth Mentors in Safeguarding and the ‘Make It’ Mentoring Programme.
Our Mentors have been trained on how to act as a guide and a positive role model to these young people, allowing them to building a positive relationship with an adult outside of their family or peer group within a safe space to reflect upon their thoughts and ideas.
